Hello World (Part 2)

Here I am again. It's Merel here. Time for some fun facts with Merel, as a continuation from Georgia's post. First things first, I'm 21, though I will be turning 22 quite soon. 1. I can't live my life without music. Honestly, I'll listen to music in all situations- whether I'm in the shower, reading a book, studying, writing, walking; just whenever. It's the background noise that's comforting, and the silence doesn't appeal to me. There is a range of music that I like to listen to which mostly ranges from rock to alternative to indie, and things somewhere in between. My spotify music selection can be quite a mix and I love it. 2. I love reading- which includes collecting books. So far my collection is sitting at about 189 books. I have to admit a lot of those books are young adult books, though I have been collecting books since I can remember. 3. I'm terrible at picking favourites (just like Georgia...), and am also very indecisive. Som

Hello World (Part 1)

So you got to know a little about us in our blog introduction but now it's time to get personal. Kia Ora,  My name is Georgia, my friends sometimes call me Gee and some people at work call me Joga (don't know where it came from or why but it's not the worst nickname) but most people just call me Georgia. Now I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22 (sorry that's a lame joke but I only have a year to make it so I'm going to make the most of it). I'm not really sure how to go about introducing myself I'm not good with introductions so I'm just going to share some facts about me. Here we go: 1) The furthest I have travelled from home was to Washington DC after I won a trip. I got a personal spy tour of Washington and learnt all about how the spies operated during the cold war. It was such an amazing time and Washington is so beautiful and I can't wait to go back there some day. 2) I suck at picking favourites. I don't know

Expecto Patronum (A Harry Potter memory)

I can’t believe that it’s been 20 years of Harry Potter. It’s honestly such a crazy thought. It’s been more than 20 years since a generation of great witches and wizards were introduced to a series. I feel like someone has obliviated the first real memories of how I got into this series, but it’s been a part of my life for quite some time. The first book I remember reading was The Half Blood Prince, which is quite strange if you think about it. I barely remember if it made sense to me. I was about 9 or 10 at that point. I must have liked it because when my mum bought The Deathly Hallows I read it. Unfortunately, someone was a snitch and spoiled the end of the series for me. I was casually eavesdropping on someone’s conversation while we were waiting in line at school. I was a little bit upset (I think it’s one of those pivotal spoiler moments which I still remember). But that was it, though. This is what I remember from my first real introduction to Harry Potter. I do

The Magic Of Harry Potter

Lumos Something tells me there will be a few blog posts on here like this since Harry Potter is such a big part of our lives and our friendship. Now this is a little late if we're following that Harry Potter publishing birthday trend but this would have been published birthday or not. Harry Potter is something that changed so many people's lives, it certainly changed mine. Without Harry Potter I probably wouldn't be friends with some of the people I am, the series introduced me to new people and brought me closer to others, some of my best memories with my friends have a connection to the franchise that I hold so dearly to my heart. I thought I could share some of these favourite memories here for you all to enjoy as well. Now I was 2 when the series came out so I wasn't going to be on the bandwagon but I was around 6 when the first movie was released and from that moment I fell in love with the magic that was Harry Potter. Now at 22 I'm a proud Huffl
